Day 5

Here are some updated pictures and Day 5's summary.

On the road to Houston!

Dustin, Tim, & Brandon ready to ride after sitting in the gas station for 7 hours!

Go Tim Go!
Today was pretty much a normal riding day. No severe cramping or broken bike parts to report about. The guys left Houston, Mo. this morning at 6:50a.m. and headed to Bendavis (sp?) They took a short break and had some doughnuts and coffee before heading out again. Tim said that they got some really nasty water and stopped to ask to refill their bottles. They were again treated to well water. Tim was trying to tell me something about a contestant from the Biggest Loser that had been through the same area a few weeks earlier. I'll have to get some clarification on that one for you. : ) They stopped in Hartville for some bananas and Powerade, but kept pushing forward. Today they didn't take a long afternoon break like they have been the past few days. They rested at a creek for lunch and ended up in Marshfield, Mo. at 3:30p.m. They opted for a hotel again tonight and found a Holiday Inn nearby. Dinner was at the Rib Crib because it was within walking distance of the hotel. After dinner they took a nap and woke up to go to Sonic for a Powerade slush and then went back to bed! The distance traveled today was 63 miles. They still have two days of 60+ miles to go, but the worst is behind them and they are over half way there!

I thought I would give this blog thing a try. My plan is to use it as an online scrapbook for my family.
