Baby Kate is HERE!

"OH BOY!" Ellen was very excited when we got the news that baby Kate had been born. We were in Desloge for the big event and everything went so smoothly; way to go Lindsay and Dustin! Kate is beautiful! She weighed 7lbs and was 20 in long. I'm so excited to be an aunt, now I get to be the one who spoils the baby and sends her back home with her mommy and daddy.
Congrats Dustin and Lindsay, I know you're going to be great Godly parents!

One tough job

What a cute little kitchen! That's what I was thinking when I saw the box sitting on my front porch. I wasn't saying that when I was trying to put it together. Honestly I was thinking, "what have I done to make my parents so mad that they mailed me this kitchen and now I have to put it together." I have put many pieces of furniture together in my time...even a tricycle, but this cute, adorable, little kitchen just about put me over the edge! It had the worst set of directions ever! I'm glad that I had prior experience in these kinds of things or I would have surely given up. One of the pieces had to actually be put in upside down because the holes wouldn't line up. Needless to say it took me a little while to get it up and running but when I did Ellen was super excited to play with it!
Thanks mom and dad!

All by myself!

Ellen is becoming very independent. She likes to do things by herself. She reminds me a lot of Dustin growing up. He would always say, "I can do it by myself!" Sometimes she doesn't realize that she can actually do it by herself until we make her try it alone. Then she gets so proud and says, "self." Obviously here she has learned to stack the blocks up in order, but the reward doesn't end there. It's all about knocking the blocks down. "CRASH!"

Apple Pickin`

Ellen and I went to pick apples last week at Plaster's Orchard. We had a blast picking the apples from the trees. Most of the fruit was "way high" (Ellen's words) so I had to use the "picker tool" (Ellen's words again) Ellen was a big helper! She would take them from the picker and put them in the bucket. She also enjoyed eating them too! We brought them home and I have made a couple of apple pies. We are going to make apple sauce too! Thank you God for your good fruit!

Grandpa Dale, Grandma Jane, and Aunt Gina

We met Dale, Jane, & Gina in Clinton on Sunday for lunch. They hadn't seen Ellen in a while so it was a good reason to go out.

As you can see in the pictures below, Ellen is very interested in little things. She loved playing with Jane's wallet. She would take the contents out and put them back in over and over again. That was until Jane showed her some fancy rings! She loves to accessorize! We don't go anywhere without her putting on a bracelet or necklace. Lately she won't leave the house without a purse. She has her own list of treasures that she carries and I don't dare take them out. I don't know where she got it...it sure wasn't from me. I will have to give credit to both of her grandmas. They both like their accessories!

After lunch we went across the street to a little park. Ellen loves to swing and slide, so that is what we did. Gina and Jane took turns slowly spinning the merry-go-round. When Ellen got off the merry-go-round it took her a second to regain her balance and she fell. It was kind of funny! Ellen did a lot of swinging and sliding that day with Grandpa Dale. It was hard to tell who was having more fun, Dale or Ellen!
It was a great day to be outside and I know we all had a good time. THANKS!
