Easter 2011

This was the first time we spent Easter away from any of our family. Tim didn't have a lot of time off school this year so we decided to try it on our own. I'm so glad we did. We got to spend some time as a family talking about what "easter" really means. We read some books about Jesus' last week, his crucifixion, and his resurrection. I wouldn't have traded it for anything.

Thanks to my friend Trina we got a family picture taken. I'm sure it wouldn't have happened otherwise.
We did the girls baskets on Saturday so that we could focus on the resurrection on Sunday. It's what it's all about anyway right?
Don't you love the chocolate cross and fish that I found at Wal-Mart? Perfect!

We had the girls go on an egg hunt around the house, since it has been raining for the last few days. At the end they could have some of the treats inside.

We hid Ellen and Sophia's eggs in different rooms so that someone wouldn't find all the eggs. I hid Sophia's eggs in the kitchen and Tim did Ellen's in the living room. So looking back, I didn't get any pictures of Ellen hunting. Sorry!

Sophia turned 2!

Sophia turned two at the beginning of this month.  I know everyone says it, but "It's going way too fast!"  I told Tim that I was having a harder time with Sophia turning two than I was with Ellen turning five this summer.  I guess it was because she is the baby.  But, now we get to go through it all one more time!!

So, here are a few pics from the special day.
Happy Birthday banner with her gifts and cards on display.

Sophia at breakfast showing that she's 2 now.  1+1= 2 right?

I think she's enjoying the cupcakes more this year than she did last year!!!  Check it out : )

More Dora pajamas and a singing "mouse" card!  Thanks Nana : )

Happy Birthday Sweet Sophia!!!  I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for you.  You are such a funny little girl and I'm so blessed to be your mama!

Update

It has been a while since I blogged and I attribute that to my feeling cruddy and tired.  Most of you know that Tim and I are expecting our third blessing of a child in October.  I'm just about to hit my 13th week and I'm starting to feel better.  Thanks for looking at the same old pictures Grandparents.  I hope to update a little more often in the future.
But for now, I hear the babes crying my name as they think nap time has come to and end for the day.

Random Pics

Here are few random pictures that I haven't posted yet.  Enjoy!

The girls love to pretend that their blankets are capes.  Well, I guess I should say that Ellen love to pretend her blanket is a cape.  Sophia just does what her big sister does.  Looks like I need to be sewing some super hero capes!

Sophia cooling off after playing in the yard.

Ellen was helping me dig the weeds out of the flower bed.

More digging...check out those socks!

Sophia's cheese face.
It looks a little more angry than cheese, but what can you expect from a 23 month old?

Popcorn

I couldn't tell you what they were watching but I can tell you that they LOVE popcorn!
