Book List

I have recently become a reader!  I never took the time to do it in the past, but I'm really enjoying it now.  I usually get my book out after we lay the girls down for bed and spend some time reading it in peace and quiet.  I decided to compile a list of books that I wanted to read.  Then I thought I would see if anyone had any comments about the books on my list or, if anyone had any suggestions that I should add.  I'm not quite sure what my goal is right now...if I want to try to read all of these books in the year 2011 or what.
I just think I'm going to get started and see where it leads.

So, here's the list: (in no particular order)

As you can see I've got a range of books on my list.  If you're interested in any of these books, I've linked each  title back to Amazon for more information.  Please feel free to comment about any that you have read or if you think there's something I need to add to my list.  I'll try to keep blogging about what I'm reading.
Well, I guess I better get busy!

Snow

We've been waiting to take the girls out to play in the snow because it's been too cold.  Today was the day,
because the temperature was finally above freezing!  As you'll be able to see, a lot of the snow had melted today, but there was still enough to have some fun.
Ellen bundled up and ready to go.

Sophia inside watching the action.

Ellen was having a hard time making snowballs with her mittens on.

Sophia didn't really like the snowballs being thrown her way.  : (

The snow was perfect for a snowman.

There she is...Ms Snowman!
(I didn't notice until I posted this, that Tim and Ellen have the same expression on their faces)

Sophia finally made it outside, but she wasn't sure about stepping on that white stuff!  Too funny.

After the snowman building, the snowball throwing got started.  Tim would make a pile for Ellen to throw since she was having a hard time.  It was pretty cute to watch.

After playing in the front yard for a while, they ventured to the back yard for a little snow sliding.

And this is what the momma was left with when it was all over!  GEEESSSHHHH!

Christmas 2010

This year we started a tradition of opening a couple of presents on Christmas Eve.
Last year after Christmas I found these cute pajamas for the girls.  I thought it would be fun for them to have something new to wear for Christmas morning.
We've tried to get in the habit of buying some good Christian, Christmas books for them. We we decided to let them open one book on Christmas Eve too.
The girls in their new pajamas looking at their new book.

 MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The girls helping Tim open his camp fire pie maker!

Ellen got a sock monkey hat and loved it.  She's always been a big fan of hats.

Sophia got a multi sided puzzle

SiLly BaNdZ!  Who knew little plastic bracelets would be so popular?

A lantern for camping

Snow Princess Ellen

The girls got new backpacks which were super cute!

Ellen opening her "big" present from Tim and I...

A Loving Family doll house.  It has 8 rooms and she got tons of furniture to decorate with.
 SHE LOVED IT!

Sophia and Tim opening another gift

Putting on lipstick like a pro!

This year I got a little crafty with my gifts.
I found this idea online and adapted it to work for me.  There are seven 4x4 blocks with different letters on four of the sides.  With those seven blocks you can spell about 15 seasonal/holiday words like:

They were a lot of fun to make and I think they were welcomed with a smile!

I thought I would give this blog thing a try. My plan is to use it as an online scrapbook for my family.
